I just like to eat…seriously. Just about anything. But hamburgers are one of those foods that you can have anywhere—at a picnic, while tailgating, at home on your deck, in a restaurant, in jail, etc.
I’ve traveled all over the country, even the world, and hamburgers can be simple and straight-forward—something you can find anywhere—or they can be completely crazy, weird, and sometimes totally out of this world.
I’m a recent transplant to the Triangle. For the past 6 years I’ve been eating, talking, and writing about burgers in Charlotte. Now it’s time to take my relentless pursuit of trying burgers everywhere to the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area.
Before you take my opinions too seriously, I should let you know something. I’m not a real food critic—I have no training or any type of culinary education. But I know what I like. I like burgers. And I really like the Triangle. I’m going to try every burger I can find here, and I hope you’ll be interested in what I have to say.
At (nearly) every restaurant I go, I’ll weigh each burger, measure its height and diameter, note the cost and if they cook the burger to order. In addition I’ll discuss the overall taste of the burger, the restaurant’s atmosphere, and their beer selection.
I’ll try to update the blog with a new review of a restaurant as often as possible. Please feel free to suggest a restaurant for me to visit, a person for me to interview, and let me know what you think of my reviews. I’d love to hear your feedback.
One thing I should note, though. Many people may have found this website looking for “The Best Burger in Raleigh” or the “Best Burger in the Triangle.” I don’t think that there is such a thing as “The Best Burger in the Triangle.” After all, if I were to eat a burger and truly think it was the best, there would be no reason for me to continue. It’s all about the journey. I’ll have our favorites, and you will too. But I could never narrow it down to just one.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some ground beef to consume.
Signed,
